Spot a Yeti in La Plagne this Saturday

Yeti Race brings all sorts of challenges to the pistes of La Plagne

featured in News & Reviews Author Alison Shayler, La Plagne Reporter Updated

This weekend sees one of the craziest races of the winter season take place on the snowy slopes of La Plagne.

Not just any old mountain trot, the Yeti Race is an icy obstacle course to be tackled in pairs. Teams of two will launch themselves into a series of challenges such as log chopping, sled pulling, scrambling over walls, commando-crawling under nets, target shooting… and there’s also the small matter of 20km to run through the snow.

There are two races to take part in: the 20km with 1000m of positive elevation gain and the 10km with 500m of postive elevation gain. Both races require agility, strength, stamina and a sense of humour.

You can sign up online here or take your chances and turn up at the La Plagne Centre sports centre to see if there are any places left. Participants must be over 16 years old and in teams of two, you must both be able to present a valid medical certificate.

Are you ready to face the yeti?!
