6000D Trail Race
The unmissable mother of all trail races over a one of a kind course
This race started 35 years ago, and La Plagne has been welcoming trail runners every since.
A race of champions, 6,000m up and down over 67km. The course is almost all on footpaths, taking competitors up through France's only Olympic bobsleigh track and goes from the apple orchards in the valley to the glacier.
The event hosts 10 races over three days for all types of runners:
- Kids - 500m to 3,000m loop completed one or more times depending on age category - 6 to 15 year olds
- Aventure - 6 to 16 year olds to run with family or an accompanying adult - solve hidden clues around the town, entertainment for the kids
- Découverte - 11km | 600m(D+) - starting and finishing in Plagne Centre through Villages and Bellecôte - for beginners
- Lacs - 30km | 1,500m(D+) - less demanding than the 6000D
- Bob - 1.5km | 125m(D+) - up the Olympic bobsleigh track, minimum age is 8 years, limited to 250 runners
- Défoulée - 5km | 250m(D+) - accessible to everyone but limited to 500 runners, there is no time barrier, departs from Plagne Bellecôte
- Défi - complete three races over one weekend: Découverte 11km, Lacs 30km and Marathon 43km
- Marathon - 43km | 2,100m(D+) - limited to 1,000 runners with three time barriers, departs at 05:30, highest point of race is 2,361m
- Relay - 69km in total, run by three people - A: 20.9km | 1,560m(D+) 1,790m(D-), B: 27.3km | 1,730m(D=) 1,435m(D-), C: 20.5km | 189km(D+) 1,434m(D-)
- 6000D - 69km | 3,400m(D+) - no time limit but hourly barriers in place, limited to 2,000 runners with minimum age of 20 years
