3. La Cantine Plagne 1800 Restaurant

Location
Plagne 1800

La Cantine is a popular restaurant in the heart of 1800, best known for its wide selection of pizzas, which make up most of the menu. Easily reached by resort shuttle, it features a cosy, rustic interior that is small but full of character. Advance booking is recommended during busy periods. Prices are very reasonable for the generous pizza sizes, and the friendly, helpful staff add to the welcoming atmosphere.

It's a warm welcome that awaits you in this restaurant from the friendly, dynamic team. Service here, most definitely comes with a smile.  And what can you expect to be served? Well word on the street is "the best pizzas in town" and it seems that few would disagree.

They also do a special, smaller sized "Bambino Pizza" just for kids. There are a few other menu options to choose from - French onion soup, salads, nachos, tartiflette and tapas but let's be honest, with word of mouth this good, you probably want to be eating pizza.

Their great food and reasonable prices means that this restaurant gets very busy, so booking a table ahead is definitely to be recommended, especially if you are a larger group. There is also live music and DJ's playing periodically throughout the week and take out is also available.

La Casa de L'Ours Restaurant, Montchavin restaurant terrasse

4. La Casa de L'Ours Restaurant

Location
Plagne Villages

La Casa de L’Ours is a vibrant all-day restaurant, pizzeria, and bar located on the front de neige at Plagne Villages in La Plagne. The menu features hearty, freshly prepared dishes, including wood-grilled meats, homemade pizzas, Savoyard specialties like fondue and raclette, burgers, and crepes. Guests can enjoy a sunny terrace in a warm, cosy setting, while the adjacent pub serves drinks, tapas, and sports, making it ideal for skiers, families, and groups.

They serve a well-priced menu of Savoyard dishes such as cheese fondue and tartiflette, where according to one French reviewer "le touriste n'est pas pris pour un pigeon" ("the tourist is not taken for a pigeon", meaning not ripped off or taken advantage of).

The restaurant has a large terrace, which you can ski/snowboard right up to, or you can access the restaurant from the shopping gallery beside the ESF office.

Open for lunch and dinner in summer and winter.

L'Avalanche Restaurant, La Plagne Centre interior

Plagne 1800

L'Alpage Restaurant, Belle Plagne style of cuisine

6. L'Alpage Restaurant

Location
Belle-Plagne

This is a cosy and friendly restaurant where you can eat-in or take away your food. Sweet and savoury crêpes, galettes and Savoyard specialities can be enjoyed here, including fondue and tartiflette.

The restaurant has various vegetarian options on the menu, all at reasonable prices.

Given its relatively small size, you would be well advised to book early (there are only around 12 tables in total). Staff are friendly and there’s a generally nice ambience made all the more homely by the cosy atmosphere.

If you’re not staying in Belle Plagne, access is via the Roche de Mio gondola. If you’re not staying in Belle Plagne or Bellecôte, this could mean a relatively lengthy journey – including at least the gondola and one connecting bus – so this probably isn’t the best choice if you’re staying further afield like in Plagne Villages, Soleil or Centre.

Children's menu and daily specials available.

Le Chalet des Colosses Restaurant, Plagne Bellecote exterior

7. Le Chalet des Colosses Restaurant

Location
Plagne Bellecote

Find it just above the gondola and close to the ice rink - look out for the red phone box.

Chalet des Colosses has a varied menu of local delicacies and is very much famed for its food and reputation.

The views are great looking directly up the mountain or over to Bellecôte itself and the Arpette chair in the distance. Unlike the majority of other businesses and eateries in Bellecôte, the Chalet is separate to the main structure, sitting up the hill a little from the main Roche de Mio gondola station.

They serve a mixed international menu including vegetarian options and curries, as well as traditional mountain dishes such as fondue, raclette or pierrade.

There is also a small ice rink by the restaurant to start burning off those cheese calories.

Open in winter and summer for breakfast, lunch and dinner
