What's on in Alpe d'Huez

1. Patinoire (ice rink), La Plagne - Centre

Outdoor ice skating fun for all the family in the resort of Plagne centre

Enjoy some open air ice skating, located in Plagne centre. Adults and children from aged two years are welcome on the ice.

It's a natural ice rink with a section cordoned off for beginners where you can enjoy skating or playing ice hockey with friends. There's also a cosy cottage where you can take a pit stop and enjoy a relaxing drink in the bar and restaurant

Penguins and chairs are available to rent. 

They're open every day throughout the season.

2. Salle Omnisports, Plagne Centre

Situated in the heart of Plagne Centre, near the shops, just steps from one of the free shuttle stops, its location makes it particularly easy to access regardless of where you are staying.

The main gym has a stepper, bike, rowing machine and you must be 18 years or over to use the gym.

They also have a climbing wall, a sports hall, two function rooms and a library.

You can play badminton, short tennis, volleyball, handball and basketball in the main sports hall.

Opening times vary throughout the year so best to call in advance and find out when they are open.

3. Squash Courts in La Plagne

Squash courts can be found in Plagne 1800 and they're open to the public in both winter and summer.

Equipment is provided for you to play, with a deposit of 30€ payable for the rackets. You're not allowed to wear black soled trainers. It costs 5€ to play for each half hour.

Opening dates:

Summer - from early July to the end of August
Winter - from mid December to the end of April.

Opening Hours:

From 17:00 to 19:00 every day.

Magic Pool, La Plagne Centre

4. Magic Pool, Plagne Bellecôte

Imagine a pool heated to 30°C, surrounded by snow, a Jacuzzi and a large sauna offering stunning views of the slopes – you’re in the Magic Pool! 

The Magic Pool is open mid-December until late April, from Monday to Saturday, from 15:00 to 20:00. They also hold swimming lessons to improve technique and various aquafit classes.

There are single tickets on offer, as well as 10-entry tickets, weekly, seasonal and annual passes. Discounts are available for children and it's free for those under five years old.

5. Patinoire (Ice Rink), Montchavin les Coches

The skating rink in Les Coches is back on ice for new adventures! Closed for a few years, this covered skating rink is a great activity for your apres-ski (or your kids').

Located on the ski area of La Plagne and just a few steps away from the village of Les Coches, you will enjoy a breathtaking view of the Haute-Tarentaise valley while having fun skating.
