With only a few months to go before the 2014 Winter Olympics kick off in Sochi, 8 La Plagne-born athletes are tentatively waiting for their call up.

They represent a number of different winter disciplines; Freestyle skiing, Luge, Slalom, Downhill racing, Bobsleigh, Half-pipe skiing and Slopestyle.

Most well known to us is Kevin Rolland, at the ripe old age of 24 he's clocked up 4 wins at the X Games, winner of the Dew Cup in 2012 and was the world champion at halfpipe in 2011 and 2009 to name a few.

Julien Lizeroux is returning to the top of his game after a knee injury a few years ago in Alpine skiing &  Slalom racing. Morganne Bonnefoy is 22 years old and is currently sat 27th in the world for luge, Loic Costerg is a 26 year old bobsleigh driver, Benoit Valentin is a 21 year old Half-pipe skier, Roger Brice is a 23 year old downhill ski racer, Victor Bérard is a 20 year old slopestyle skier, and the baby of the bunch is 16 year old Antoine Adelisse is a half-pipe and slopestyle skier.

As well as these athletes, we've heard that a number of the team from La Plagne's bobsleigh track have been called over to Sochi to keep the track over there maintained to the highest standards from competing.

There must be something in the water in La Plagne to breed such a budding bunch of Olympic hopefuls! We'll keep you posted when we know who's on the final roll call.
