A French teenager has died following a tragic ski accident in La Plagne. The 15 year old died yesterday after he hit a tree just off the edge of the piste in the ski resort.
It is believed that the young man was skiing on a blue run when he hit a bump and was thrown several meters before colliding with a tree. Rescuers were quick to arrive at the scene but sadly the teenager had already died. Sources suggest that he was wearing a helmet when the incident occurred.
The teenager from Bouches du Rhone was staying with the UCPA in La Plagne - a non-profit French organisation that organises sporting activities and holidays for young people between 7 and 39 years of age.
An inquiry is underway.
