2018 is an Olympic year, a winter Olympic year to be precise. Paradiski is home to some of France's top freestyle talent, including superstar Kevin Rolland. It's also the base for the national bobsleigh team.

Eleven La Plagne locals will be representing France in Korea next week. Here's a quick rundown of who they are and what they do. So, if you are in La Plagne during the Olympics, you'll know what the fuss is about and if you're watching, give these locals some support!

11 athletes from La Plagne heading to the Olympics

Maxence Muzaton - Alpine Skiing
Making his World Cup debut in 2009, his career highlight is a second place finish in the super combined in Wengen in 2017.

Brice Roger - Alpine skiing
Brice was scheduled to be on the 2014 Olympic team but a knee injury prevented him from competing. With a strong 7th place finish in the Kitzbuhel last week, he should be going into these games fitter than ever.

Marie Martinod - Ski Halfpipe
Olympic and X-Games Medalist having taken silver in Sochi. Marie is still in top form. She just missed out on a podium position at the X-Games in Aspen this week.

Kevin Rolland - Ski Halfpipe
The man needs no introduction, he’s been at the top of his game for much of the past decade. With 7 Winter X-Games medals, including 3 golds and a bronze medal from Sochi, Kevin is one to watch for sure.

Tess Ledeux - Ski Slopestyle
This 16-year-old has already achieved more than many veterans. She’s won world cup slopestyle events and a silver medal at her debut X-Games.

Antoine Adelisse - Ski Slopestyle
Another youngster at 21, but he’s already competed at one Olympic Games. He’s been taking home medals at plenty of national events and performed admirably at his first X-Games in 2017.

Julien Lizeroux - Slalom
This Slalom specialist has been competing at the highest level since 2000, and has already been part of two Olympic teams. His best result was in 2010 when he came second overall in the World Cup Slalom.

The Bobsleigh Team
Captained by Loic Costerg, the team was formed in 2010 out of a desire you get a French team back onto the world bobsleigh stage after a long absence. And we’d say they’ve succeeded, Peong Chang will be their second Olympic Games. They are Vincent Castell, Loïc Costerg, Dorian Hauterville, Romain Heinrich, Vincent Ricard and Yannis Pujar.

5 Chamoniards heading to the Winter Olympics

The 2018 Pyeong Chang Winter Olympics run from the 9th February to the 25th February. Athletes from 92 countries will be competing in 102 medal events, in 15 different disciplines. The events will be held across 15 different venues, ice events will largely take place in the coastal city of Gangneung while mountain events will take place further inland in the Pyeong Chang district itself.
