Fast High Speed Gondola in Plagne Montalbert in Final Stages of Testing

Fast link between Montalbert & Fornelet opening soon

The new gondola connecting Plagne Montalbert at 1,350m to the top of the Fornelet at 1,970m is in the final stages of testing.

The new 10 person gondola will replace 2 chairlifts the Montalbert and the Fornelet and will be the fastest link from Plagne Montablert and the Fornelet, taking just 6 minutes to get to the top and carrying up to 2,800 people per hour with an estimated cost of 10 million euros.

Trials of the new Gondola have been taking place over the past few days and so far there have been no problems reporterd. It is due to open on the 19th December 2015.

All we need now is the snow!

Upcoming Events

Each of the La Plagne resorts, as well as the surrounding villages, holds a number of events throughout the year. Ice climbing competitions and ski races take place in the winter months, in addition to the usual après-ski parties featuring live bands and DJs. The summer, on the other hand, attracts a number of trail running and cycling competitions, as well as live concerts.
