New ski lifts planned in La Plagne

Location of the new "Envers" & Plagne Villages lifts up for debate

Changes to some of the ski lifts in Aime 2000 and Plagne Villages are afoot, but with some concerns over location, access and possible bus replacements, we may have to wait a while longer before the plans are fully confirmed.

Aime 2000

Construction on a replacement for the Coqs ski lift in Aime 2000, the be called "Envers" is currently scheduled for building work this summer, with a view to having it up and running by winter 2016/17. However, the planned position of the new Envers lift is not entirely dissimilar to that of the old Coqs lift, which has a few people scratching their heads.

The top of the new Envers lift is currently planned to move closer to the same arrival point of the existing 3 lifts in Aime 2000, which would mean removing a large number of trees in its proposed path. It would also be slightly shorter than the old Coqs lift.

Plagne Villages

It appears that the plans for development in Plagne Villages and its ski lifts are causing quite a stir. After a recent study, proposals have been made to add a new 6 seater chairlift to replace the current Boulevard lift and to replace the current Telebus lift with shuttle buses.

The Aollets drag lift would potentially also be dismantled and replaced with a shorter, newer version of itself. A new and much longer lift, currently being called "Vega" may be added to serve as a relief to traffic on the Bergerie lift, which will be left as it is. The Chevrette may also be replaced with a covered magic carpet.

Discussion on all of these plans are still under way, so it will be a while before we know the final outcome.
