Le Chairlift Restaurant, La Plagne Village

A great spot for a lunchtime stop during your day out on the mountain, serving international as well as local Savoyarde cuisine.

Take your pick from the extensive pizza menu, or tuck into their local specialities of tartiflette, croziflette, or a tasty raclette burger. Traditional mains and simple snacks for a quick in-and-out ski stop include salads, croque monsieur, lasagne, burgers and chips.

If you just need a quick pick-me-up and some sugar, try a crêpe or tart with a nice hot drink. The bar also serves a selection of wines and beers, including the local Le Slalom brasserie.

Enjoy your meal in their spacious and trendy restaurant, or outside on the terrace overlooking the piste.

Their menu is also available for take-away and rôtisserie chickens can be ordered a day in advance to take away for your Sunday lunch at home.

2. Araucaria Restaurant

This delightful hotel restaurant serves creative cuisine, blending French gastronomy and Savoyard tradition.

In an elegant setting overlooking the slalom track, the restaurant occupies the ground floor of the hotel and is open daily for dinner from 18:45 to 21:30. Its chic and friendly atmosphere will appeal to friends, couples and families alike and the large dining tables can comfortably sit up to 12 people, promising you a warm and friendly dining experience!

Even the most discerning palette will be tantalised by the themed buffets (gourmet market, pizzeria, homemade desserts …), but how much you eat is down to you!

The restaurant is situated in front of the Jean-Luc Crétier slalom stadium, with direct access to the pistes and ski-lifts of the vast Paradiski domain. The easy access and good food makes it the prefect place to stop for lunch or an après-ski drink.

3. Le Farcon Restaurant

Enjoy traditional home cooked Savoyard cuisine, using fresh local ingredients.

The dining room is best described as "Alpine Kitsch" with lots of pine cones, old leather skates, cow print fabrics, wooden beams, etc.

Open for lunch and dinner from Tuesday to Sunday, lunch only on Mondays. Closed in the evenings, weekends and holidays in the interseason.

4. La Cantine Plagne 1800 Restaurant

La Cantine is a popular restaurant in the heart of 1800, best known for its wide selection of pizzas, which make up most of the menu. Easily reached by resort shuttle, it features a cosy, rustic interior that is small but full of character. Advance booking is recommended during busy periods. Prices are very reasonable for the generous pizza sizes, and the friendly, helpful staff add to the welcoming atmosphere.

It's a warm welcome that awaits you in this restaurant from the friendly, dynamic team. Service here, most definitely comes with a smile.  And what can you expect to be served? Well word on the street is "the best pizzas in town" and it seems that few would disagree.

They also do a special, smaller sized "Bambino Pizza" just for kids. There are a few other menu options to choose from - French onion soup, salads, nachos, tartiflette and tapas but let's be honest, with word of mouth this good, you probably want to be eating pizza.

Their great food and reasonable prices means that this restaurant gets very busy, so booking a table ahead is definitely to be recommended, especially if you are a larger group. There is also live music and DJ's playing periodically throughout the week and take out is also available.

5. Chez Marie Restaurant

A cosy restaurant decorated in wood and sheepskin serving traditional local specialities. 

They offer a range of Savoyard specialities, including raclette, fondue and steaks, as well as range sweet and savoury pancakes and galettes with lots of fillings.

Open for lunch and dinner daily throughout the winter season.

Cosy farmhouse style restaurant serving local Savoyard specialities such as cheese fondue, raclette and charcuterie at a reasonable price.

They also offer a daily lunch special and a children's menu. Sit on the south facing terrace and soak up the sun.

7. Les Cocottes Restaurant

Whether you fancy morning coffee, lunch with friends, a quick snack with the kids or a dinner for two, the friendly staff at this restaurant will be there to welcome you.  

All appetites are catered for here with soups, salads and toasties available for a lighter bite, to meat and fish dishes, pasta, sharing platters and cheesy specialities. A children's menu is also available. 

It also has an enviable location right on the snow front in Plagne Centre so when the sun is out, park yourself on the fabulous sunny terrace and watch the world go by whilst topping up your tan. Great for groups and families.

8. Le 4810 Restaurant

Open for lunch and dinner serving pizzas and local specialities. As well as pizzas and burgers, there is also a great value daily lunch menu consisting of a set main course and dessert.  Perfect if you want something quick and wholesome before heading back out onto the slopes.

Part of the CGH Residence "Les Granges du Soleil", at night, guests staying in the residence just need to hop in the lift to take their evening meal here but it's also easily accessible on foot from Plagne Soleil.

In the evening, the menu will temp you with steak, ribs, pizzas and, of course, Savoyard specialities, but make sure you save space for a little sweet treat at the end, such as their famous "Café Gourmand". All dishes are freshly prepared on site with locally sourced ingredients wherever possible.

Whether you go for the wonderful views from the terrace in the daytime or the cosy atmosphere in the evening; you will be well looked after by their friendly and enthusiastic team.

9. Au Coin du Feu Restaurant

You'll find modern décor and food that is a bit more sophisticated that the usual "steak-frites".

Open for lunch and dinner, this restaurant offers a hearty menu of traditional French cuisine such as escargots (snails cooked in garlic butter), roasted bone marrow, duck, gratin dauphinois (creamy potato gratin) and beef grilled over an open flame.

Slightly more expensive than your average omelette and chips restaurant, but no more than you'd expect for a good quality meal in a ski resort.

Open daily throughout the winter. Very popular, booking is recommended.

La Metairie Restaurant, Plagne Centre interior

10. La Metairie Restaurant

A chalet-style traditional Alpine restaurant.

Serving hearty Savoyard and French specialities in a cosy environment, including raclette, and pierrade, they also have an extensive wine list.

Open daily throughout the winter season from 11:30 to 22:30.

Serving a range of typical French dishes, the restaurant is open for lunch and dinner.

Grilled meats are one of their speciality dishes and each table has a copper hood suspended above it so that diners can grill their own meat at the table. As well as sit down meals they also have a takeaway snack service with a wide range of sandwiches and pizzas. 

The adjoining bar is open until 02:00. Open throughout the year.

12. La Casa de L'Ours Restaurant

La Casa de L’Ours is a vibrant all-day restaurant, pizzeria, and bar located on the front de neige at Plagne Villages in La Plagne. The menu features hearty, freshly prepared dishes, including wood-grilled meats, homemade pizzas, Savoyard specialties like fondue and raclette, burgers, and crepes. Guests can enjoy a sunny terrace in a warm, cosy setting, while the adjacent pub serves drinks, tapas, and sports, making it ideal for skiers, families, and groups.

They serve a well-priced menu of Savoyard dishes such as cheese fondue and tartiflette, where according to one French reviewer "le touriste n'est pas pris pour un pigeon" ("the tourist is not taken for a pigeon", meaning not ripped off or taken advantage of).

The restaurant has a large terrace, which you can ski/snowboard right up to, or you can access the restaurant from the shopping gallery beside the ESF office.

Open for lunch and dinner in summer and winter.

13. L'Estaminet Restaurant

Friendly restaurant run by the same husband and wife team since 1987, this is a good place to try traditional Savoyard fare and Alsatian cuisine.

They specialise in dishes from the Alsace region and hold a themed evening every Tuesday when you can try the traditional Backeofe. They also offer classic Savoyard dishes such as pierrade, fondue and raclette.

They are open daily throughout the summer and winter seasons, with a full evening menu and a simplified lunch menu.

14. Le Petit Chaperon Rouge Restaurant

This traditionally French chalet-style restaurant serves reasonably priced local dishes.

This typical Savoyard has a cosy wooden interior with log fire and is popular with locals and seasonal workers. Their menu features local specialities such as raclette, croziflette, fondue, tartiflette and reblochonnade, as well as French classics like onion soup, snails, grilled steaks, beef tartare, and duck.

Open for lunch (11:30 to 15:00) and dinner (17:30 to 02:00), as well as for drinks (10:00 to 02:00). You can ski in and the owners have been known to give clients a lift home on the snowmobile when the snow is heavy.

L'Arlequin Restaurant, Aime 2000 style of cuisine

15. L'Arlequin Restaurant

Their wide ranging menu offers a great range of pizzas and local Savoyard specialities like raclette, fondue and tartiflette. The décor is as much a part of the experience as the food, and the warm welcome from owners Monique and Georges makes it popular with locals and holidaymakers alike. Specialities include creamy risotto with morille mushrooms, Parma ham and scamorza cheese, egg duo with truffle, Rossini beef, scallops with chorizo and aubergines, salmon and beef tartare, or creamy tartiflette.

They also offer chef Benjamin Villain very own menus with the signature dish of the restaurant, La Potence, beef or prawns flambées with whisky or pastis. Unusual twists on classic French dishes and international touches makes this a memorable dining experience - for all the right reasons.

Open every day from 11:00 to 22:30.

16. Le Loup Blanc Restaurant

This restaurant offers quick service on the terrace for lunch where you can pick up a vin chaud or a crêpe at reasonable prices.

At dinner you can dine inside near the toasty fire and try their chef's Asian influenced dishes, or stick to local Savoyard specialities or a good steak.

Open all year, they also have free WiFi and private parking.

Le Grizzli Restaurant, Plagne Village interior

17. Le Grizzli Restaurant

It is recommended by locals for its hearty Savoyard dishes and meats grilled over the open fireplace.

Located at the foot of the Plagne Village ski slopes, this restaurant is specialised in raclette, Savoyard fondue with Beaufort cheese, tartiflette and cold meats. They also serve selected meat cuts grilled over the open fire and there is a children's menu. Their wine list is extensive and includes local Savoy wines, as well as from Côtes du Rhone, Burgundy and Bordeaux.

Open in winter from 11:30 to 14:00 and from 18:00 to 22:00.

18. Le Plante de Baton Restaurant

You can reach this restaurant on skis or on foot.

A sunny terrace right at the foot of the pistes and a cosy dining room make this a popular lunch spot. The menu is traditional Savoyard - expect lots of hearty cheese dishes such as fondue and tartiflette.

Open for lunch and dinner every day, with breakfast served at weekends. Open from mid-December to late April and from early August to early September.
