Recent figures have revealed that La Plagne is the biggest ski resort in the world. With 2.5 million ski lift passes bought in a season and 53,509 beds available in resort, La Plagne is all about superlatives!

Furthemore, it also has the biggest ski lift in the world, the Vanoise Express that links it with Les Arcs to create the Paradiski area.

When you consider the statistics, it is hard to believe that 50 years ago there was nothing here except cows and a lead mine.....times have certainly changed!

Each of the La Plagne resorts, as well as the surrounding villages, holds a number of events throughout the year. Ice climbing competitions and ski races take place in the winter months, in addition to the usual après-ski parties featuring live bands and DJs. The summer, on the other hand, attracts a number of trail running and cycling competitions, as well as live concerts.
