There is a free bus service (or cable car) that links the six main village resorts of La Plagne.

Whilst it’s tempting to drive between the villages, parking can be difficult during peak seasons and it’s not exactly ideal for the environment. If you do drive, carpool when possible and ensure your vehicle has winter tyres or chains between late November and early April.

After the bus service stops, it's best to pre-book a taxi, to avoid a long wait, if not you could have a chilly walk home in the snow.

Bikes aren’t recommended in winter, and in summer, the villages are small enough to explore on foot unless you're here specifically for road or mountain biking.

Spread over eleven villages, walking around each is easy enough. If you want to walk between the villages it will involve an uphill hike at some point, and we couldn't recommend it at night - use the free shuttles to travel between the resorts in both summer and winter.
