La Plagne continues to offer reliable late season skiing, with a strong base still covering much of the mountain as spring conditions settle in. The higher villages and glacier sectors are holding their winter feel, while lower slopes are beginning to soften under longer sunny days. The overall atmosphere is calm and enjoyable, with quieter pistes and good visibility across the resort.
Snow and Weather Summary
Snow depths are currently around 70 to 100 cm at resort level between 1800 and 2000 metres, with between 180 and 250 cm on the upper slopes above 2700 metres. The glacier and higher sectors towards Bellecôte and Roche de Mio continue to hold the most reliable snowpack. There has been very little recent snowfall, with only light dustings at altitude over the past week.
Temperatures have ranged from minus 8 to minus 3 degrees on the upper slopes and between plus 2 and plus 9 degrees in the resort depending on sunshine. The freezing level has been sitting between 2300 and 2700 metres during the day before dropping overnight, which helps maintain piste quality, particularly at higher elevations. Winds have been generally light with occasional moderate gusts on exposed ridges.
Skiing conditions are best above 2000 metres where the snow remains firm in the morning and softens gradually through the afternoon. The higher terrain around the glacier is skiing particularly well, offering consistent snow throughout the day. Lower runs soften more quickly and can become heavier later on, especially on south facing slopes.
