La Plagne is popular with campers, especially in summer, although a few sites and motorhome areas are open in winter too. There are no campsites in the resort itself, but you’ll find options in Montchavin and Champagny en Vanoise, with a wider selection near Aime on the way up the valley. Motorhomes can park at Plagne Villages, which offers powered pitches, waste disposal, water, WiFi and direct access to the slopes. Booking in advance is recommended.

La Plagne isn’t really a resort for glamour, but you can still find some high-end options. When travelling with kids in La Plagne, staying close to the nursery slopes makes life much easier. Choose accommodation with plenty of nearby facilities so you’re not trekking long distances in ski boots to reach lessons, restaurants or shops. The quieter villages like Plagne 1800, Belle Plagne, Montchavin, Les Coches and Champagny are particularly popular with families, offering easy access to the Paradiski ski area and a more relaxed pace, ideal for a stress-free holiday.
La Plagne is well known for being an affordable Alpine destination, with plenty of budget-friendly chalets and self-catered apartments on offer. Generally, the further you stay from the centre, the better the value, though there are bargains right across the resort. Higher up, Plagne Centre, Bellecôte, Villages and Soleil offer cost-conscious apartments, while villages lower down like Champagny, Montchavin, Les Coches and Montarbert provide great value for studios and small apartments, often with pull-out sofas or bunks.

You’ll want to stay as close to Plagne Centre as possible. Most of the après-ski action is in town itself, but you shouldn't overlook Plagne 1800 and Aime La Plagne.
La Plagne is made up of several purpose-built resorts and traditional villages, all connected to the ski area. Plagne 1800 is the first you reach from Bourg St Maurice, with Plagne Bellecôte, Belle Plagne, Plagne Centre, Plagne Aime 2000, Plagne Villages and Plagne Soleil nearby. Further down the valley, Montchavin-Les Coches links to Les Arcs, while Montalbert sits below Plagne Aime 2000. Across the mountain, Champagny has its own slopes and access to the wider La Plagne area.
Plagne Centre is the biggest and busiest of the La Plagne villages. With shops, bars, restaurants and services all linked by indoor galleries, it’s a lively base that has everything you need. On the slopes it’s a key lift hub with easy access for beginners and challenging runs for experts, making it a great choice if you want to be at the heart of the action.
These small satellite villages of La Plagne Centre are perfect for skiers wanting a quieter, more relaxed stay. They have essential shops, ski hire and beginner areas, with runs leading straight into Plagne Centre. Well-connected by the lift network, they offer good-value chalets and apartments right on the slopes. Enjoy a laid back holiday while staying close to all the action.
Plagne 1800 is one of the most charming spots in La Plagne with its cluster of wooden chalets and friendly atmosphere. Families love the small beginner area and easy access to ski school, while lifts connect you quickly to Plagne Centre and beyond. With a mix of affordable chalets, apartments and hotels plus a few lively bars, it offers a welcoming base with everything close at hand.
Aime La Plagne, or Aime 2000, sits at 2,100m and is one of the highest purpose-built resorts in the Alps. Its distinctive pointy-topped building houses most of the self-catering apartments along with shops, restaurants and ski services. With ski-in, ski-out access to the Paradiski area, beginner zones, blues and reds, plus spectacular valley and Mont Blanc views, it’s perfect for those chasing sun on their balcony and easy access to the slopes, as well as a small lively nightlife scene.
Situated at the convergence of several pistes, Plagne Bellecôte is ideal for skiers wanting to maximise time on the slopes. The village has plenty of self-catered apartments, restaurants, shops and bars, with lifts and a gondola just metres away. Well connected to Plagne Centre and Belle Plagne, it combines convenience with a lively resort atmosphere.
Belle Plagne is one of the prettiest villages in La Plagne with its chalet-style buildings, pedestrianised centre and welcoming atmosphere. The skiing is ideal for families and beginners with wide blues linking to Bellecôte and beyond, while more confident skiers can quickly reach the full La Plagne and Les Arcs ski areas. With shops, restaurants, bars and even a bowling alley, it’s a great mix of quiet charm and convenience.
